Hey, who are you?
My names Chad and I’m and aspiring Graphic Designer from Toronto Ontario. I enjoy long walks on the beach and candle lit dinners..Oops wrong site! Anyway as for my real hobbies I enjoy writing music, playing guitar (electric and bass) messing around with Photoshop and attempting to stay in shape. I’m originally from Toronto Ontario, my parents are from the small island of St.Vincent located in the Caribbean. Growing up I’ve always been a hands on learning type of person. I’ve always been good with creating things whether it was with crayons or Lego. I think messing around with Lego when I was younger has always challenged me to problem solve and think outside the box, something Design is constantly demanding.
I attended West Humber C.I for all of Grade 9 and half of grade 10. I later went to Richview C.I where things were very different. Im a very creative person, in my later highschool years I found it very challenging to work in an enviroment that didnt really allow me to as creative. The school was very academic which wasnt really appealing to me, which was why my grades werent the best. I used my summers off from school to learn how to use Photoshop as well as other digital editing software.
What are you doing on WordPress?
This is my first real website/blog, I’ll will be checking, posting and updating daily. The last time I had some to take care of over the internet was a Neo pet, lets just say things didn’t end well. Unlike the neo pet, I will be taking care of this blog as it will help me become more comfortable with this form of media which is fairly new to me. As an aspiring graphic designer its important to have my work as accessible as possible.
When did you decide on getting into Graphic Design?
When I first discovered what a Graphic Designer was, I was in my Grade 10 Media Arts program. In that course I discovered how art and media intertwine. Before I discovered Design I wanted to get into music production, but was happy with how that particular industry worked. Which was why I decided to stick with my passion of art.
How are you working towards your goal of becoming a Graphic Designer?
In the next few weeks I plan on applying to college, where I can then work on getting my Degree in Graphic Design. Untill then I will be working on my portfolio, which I need to apply. My dream at the end off all of this is to find a good job thats worth waking up to every morning aswell as finding a place in the heart of the city. I know all this hard work will pay off in the near future.
