F.A.Q

I didnt know about Graphic Design untill I was introduced to it in my grade 10 Media Arts class. A few weeks after being introduced to it I was really intrested in finding out as much as I could. Now that I’m older developed an even bigger interest in Graphic Design, I’m working on turning my hobbie into a profession.

A lot of my classmates are just discovering Photoshop and things that could done with it, along with the various fields of design. Here are some questions my classmates have asked me about my future profession in Graphic Design.

Q:What can you benefit form Graphic Design?

There’s many things that I have benefited from, since learning more about graphic design. Graphic design as tough me to really think outside the box, and then think outside that box as well. It really challenges you must be as creative as possible. When I’m working on something I usually start with an idea, by the end of everything only around 20 percent of that original idea is left. If theres one thing Design has tought me, its is to always try to improve on anything you think you have finished. Chances are theres always more that could be done.

Q:How much do Graphic Designers make?

Graphic designers can make a lot of money whether its work for an advertising  company or just your own freelance work. But where theres a lot of money involved theres also a lot of competition.  Graphic Design aswell as other fields of design are very competitive, you  need on top of your game if you want to make big money. Some of the world’s top designers make anywhere from $100-$100,000 and up just for their work, depending on who there designing for. With the hard work I’m willing to put forward may one day I’ll be making that kind of money.

Q:How long does it take to make professional design?

Some of the worlds most well known logos, such as Coca Cola and Pepsi werent made in one day. It takes months after months to come up with a final design. A lot of ideas, energy and time go into creating such designs. When it comes to the creative process there is usually a design team that works on creating an easy and asscesible design.

As for how long it may take, it depends on the client. Designers are given a deadline in which they must complete their work. Depending in the task they may only be given a short period of time to finish something that would normally take weeks.
